This is my first time having quail during the summer and I'm worried cause the weather forecast is calling for a 114 degrees and I'm worried they are gonna over heat.

I take 2 litre bottles and fill them about 2/3 to 3/4 full and freeze them. The frozen bottles will last a couple of hours in that heat. I also give them ice water. I still lost 3 when it hit 114 last year.

I put out gallon size ice blocks on a wet towel for my quail in the summer. The evaporating water from the towel and the ice blocks keep that area cooler. They spend much of the day on the towel. Frozen water bottles are also a good idea if you don't want to get the ground wet.

Ugh, its going to be 110 Monday here in Seattle. Looks like I better start freezing water bottles too.

Not the cheap option, but I bought a mister hose, plugs, and put it on a garden timer. I plugged all of the misters but 2 so that I don't run the water bill up. Keeps them happy when it hits 100+ here and greatly cools the surrounding air.

Huh, I thought they didn’t like getting wet & that it would make them sick- is misting them ok? It’ll get the bedding wet too I suppose, but that would I assume keep it cooler also? If misting them is the answer I could go out and mist them in addition to the frozen water.

You don't mist them enough to get them wet, just enough to cool things down.

Got it, so sort of like what I do for the parrots. I actually have a handheld mister for them that will work on the quail too.

I don't point it at the birds, I angle it upwards and away from the pen. Also, in 100 degree heat, the water quickly evaporates. It isn't to directly wet the quail, but to cool the surrounding air.
