This is my first time having quail during the summer and I'm worried cause the weather forecast is calling for a 114 degrees and I'm worried they are gonna over heat.

Thank you!I take 2 litre bottles and fill them about 2/3 to 3/4 full and freeze them. The frozen bottles will last a couple of hours in that heat. I also give them ice water. I still lost 3 when it hit 114 last year.

I had to get the longest model to run it to my coop location.
You don't mist them enough to get them wet, just enough to cool things down.Ugh, its going to be 110 Monday here in Seattle. Looks like I better start freezing water bottles too.
Not the cheap option, but I bought a mister hose, plugs, and put it on a garden timer. I plugged all of the misters but 2 so that I don't run the water bill up. Keeps them happy when it hits 100+ here and greatly cools the surrounding air.
Huh, I thought they didn’t like getting wet & that it would make them sick- is misting them ok? It’ll get the bedding wet too I suppose, but that would I assume keep it cooler also? If misting them is the answer I could go out and mist them in addition to the frozen water.
I don't point it at the birds, I angle it upwards and away from the pen. Also, in 100 degree heat, the water quickly evaporates. It isn't to directly wet the quail, but to cool the surrounding air.Ugh, its going to be 110 Monday here in Seattle. Looks like I better start freezing water bottles too.
