I am really new to chickens genetics, and how to breed chickens to get what you want in them. All I have so far, is a goal of what I want. That goal is to "create" a chicken loosely based off of a Crested Cream Legbars.

These chickens will:
-Lay mint/pastel green eggs (med-large size)
-Be a medium-large sized bird (like the Buckeye)
-Have a crest, larger tan a CCL
-Have lacing if possible
-Have the disposition of a Buckeye

I would love for some help and advice that will help me to achieve making a chicken like this.

I just want to make sure I understand this right before recommending anything!

- medium-large sized bird (like a buckeye)
- single comb
- crest, larger than a CCL
- mint/seafoam/light green eggs (med-large size)
- lacing if possible
I would also like for the chicken to have the disposition of a Buckeye.

Than that is all! Thank you.

A single comb is not compatible with a large crest.

I only want the crest to be a little bit larger than this:

Would you mind explaining why you would not advise having a single comb and crest?
Yes of course.

The comb you showed was pretty big and floppy.
Also, I presume you want a large crest too.
Large combs can be problems for eyesight, and so can crests (not necessarily, but often). Though the bird you describe sounds lovely, It doesn't sound like it could see very well. Unless of course you are satisfied with a small crest.

I don't keep buckeye. What are their temperaments like?

@JadeFarms what do you think?

I understand the eyesight problem. The chicken did not have any, and was the first one to see aerial predators. Here another chicken of the same breed and hatch who had a smaller comb and crest (she is in the back):

As for crest size, I would be fine with a small-medium size crest.
Buckeyes are possibly more docile than an Orpington, and I would even go as far as to say that they are more friendly than a Silkie. I am 98% sure that people who have kept Buckeyes would agree with me.
