Hi everyone! :frow
I currently have 4 RIR hens named Carole, Pinky, Minnie and Big Betty who are all healthy ladies just over a year old and 3 younger Lavender Orps new to the flock as of this year: one a 5 month old roo named Teddybudz a.k.a. "Trouble" and the other 2 are brooder pair named Lil' Fat B and Baby G who will be turning 19wks old this upcoming Wednesday. Sure enough, Lil' Fat B indeed turned out to be a roo and I don't plan on keeping him for much longer but I've been having nothing but problems trying to seperate him from pullet/brooder mate Baby G lately. :barnieAny advice on how to successfully seperate the pair?

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I agree with @penny1960 Those extra large wire dog crates make wonderful jail/hospital cages for birds you need to isolate for whatever reason. Sometimes it's the only way. Good luck with your boy!

Hi @MamaSug welcome to BYC.
Can you explain why you want to separate the cockerel from his sister? :idunno

Imo its quit mean to put a chicken in a cage for a long time. If you can’t keep him , you could consider to give him away for free through Craig's list asap.
