Okay, this is the most STUPID thread ever. I'm SO sorry I caused trouble... I just like the BYC community and I thought you would have nice, fun answers. I never dreamed that it would be so mean and cruel. Y'all are so worried about hurting a little girls feelings, who has no idea this is even going on. What about my feelings? I have said nothing hurtful and unkind on this thread. I'm going to report this thread... I don't want anybody else seeing how stupid we all were. Thanks for your help... -troyer gal

I'm not worried about the girls feelings, that's something for the parents to worry about, not you or any of us. That doesn't mean I'd tell the girl about her duck, again, that is for the parents to do. As for you feelings, I'm truly sorry if I hurt them, I sure didn't mean to, but I stand by what I said earlier in that setting the duck free is illegal and should not be done. Retrain, rehome, or butcher, those are the only options I see.

UPDATE: Donald ended up going to freezer camp, and the little girls momma was notified. the little girl is doing great... and didn't even notice he was missing from the flock.
