How to tell if Coturnix quail eggs are going to hatch?

Simple really just like a chicken egg

Like the poster above said plus in some you can see veins at the earlier stages.

I wasn't able to see anything when I tried. I suppose maybe with a higher powered light it'd be possible. Too late now, I don't want to disturb them.

No piping yet. Good thing I work today otherwise I'd be glued next to the incubator in anticipation all day

I'm still not sure what day you are on right now my friend.
If you are 17+ with coturnix, and it looks all dark when you candle...That's because there is a chick in there. If it's less than 21 days, then let it ride.

I dont remember how many eggs you had, but you should start seeing the early pips any time if your on your 17th day. +1 what Joe said about opaque eggs, thats a good thing at this point, just the air pocket should be seen even with a bright light. Sending you good hatching vibes from Kansas!!!
