How to tell if Coturnix quail eggs are going to hatch?

What is your humidity?
I normally go 40-50% during basic incubation
and 65% or so at lockdown.

If the chick pips and zips it might take a break before popping out.
But if the membrane is too dry the chick might not be able to break it.
If the humidity is low or the membrane is drying on the chick (shrink wrap) I will put a small warm damp rag in one spot and the egg that has trouble on it. The moisture from the rag will help the chick break the membrane if that is the issue.

*Pipped = poked a single hole in the shell/membrane
*Zipped = cracked a line around the shell kind of like a zipper line

I thought for sure one of mine died.. Was the first to pip and 12 hours later after 5 others he/she finally zipped and came right on out

During the incubation is was around 40-45% humidity and now I've been keeping it around 70% and the chick has zipped the egg. It looks like theres enough moisture. I'll try putting a rag in though

I love my little guy! What a cutie! I'm too lazy to upload pictures right now but I'm sure it looks like he/she has the pharaoh pattern. Can't wait till the rest hatch

I'd be surprised if you get a true Wild color. Most of mine are in the Range colors. with a few whites, fawns, and goldens in the winter pen.
