How to tell if the chicks a boy or girl

Well I was hoping size would be a factor - but since TSC clerks of course had no clue - I may just have a mix of ages... So far my babies are beautiful - just hoping I find out who is a rooster before my daughter gets too attached... I can only have one rooster - and hoping if one of them is a rooster - that he is mellow... dare to dream?

I do have one baby that was bigger to start and is definitely growing fast - and seems to be a bit more of a roo personality.... but then again... who knows...

Mine started out almost white with a yellowish tint - and now are growing in with a lot of red from the head down and white from about shoulders down ...

I really hate that I somehow missed this post!! I've been trying to figure out the Amberlinks for a while!! I even posted something a few weeks back without learning anything!! I'll tell you what I've learned from having 6. First off I couldn't tell any difference when they were chicks. They all looked alike!

You can definetly tell your cockrels from your pullets pretty early cause by 4 weeks old they already had a much larger comb & waddle!! (the pic below was at 4 weeks!) Not only do they have the pretty tanish spots on them (2 have way more that 1 of them does!) they feathered out much later than the pullets. Now at 8 weeks there is no doubt that they are cockrels (don't have a recent pic of them!) My pullets are all completly white and don't have any tanish spots on them at all. (So maybe they aren't Amberlinks at all but since that's how I bought them that's all I can go by!) They were probably completly feathered 2 weeks or so before the males were.

I was thinking about starting a Amberlink post so maybe we could gather our information together because you can't hardly find any!!

And I have 3 Amberlink cockrels that prove that this breed doesn't just produce pullets no matter what anyone says!!
