How to tell legitimate puppy ads from scammers and puppy mill ads.

most dogs can handle the heat if they arn't babied , It has been nearly 100 for over a week except at night and we have 90% ish humidity just about everyday of the year ..

I'm confident that if a solar flair comes and wipes out the electricity my dogs will be happy and healthy, I am afraid most pets wont be able to make it.. it kinda makes me sad

Besides, shivering all night to stay warm is a waste of energy, and takes more food to maintain body heat. It makes way more sense to me to have a dog indoors at night, and out during the day. But, if I'm paying for the food, I want its use to be best for them and me. Especially since there are likely to be times we'll be stuck up on the mountain, thanks to nor-easterners.

But, everyone does things differently.

It's been around 108 and humid here. Most of the dogs around here do fine in heat. But, where we're moving here soon....it's been 65. 65 at the end of July! Winters'll be fun. But the house will be heated with wood, so loss of power won't bother us at all. Though, I'm from that kind of climate originally, so I know my way around cold.

we have an in ground dog house.. its essentially a tiny cave.. stays somewhat comfortable year round . plus we have three of them (dogs) to keep each other warm.. we have never lost an animal to predators because they are free to work/guard at night when they are needed

As I was saying, just because it's ideal fo you, doesn't mean it is for everyone else.

Ideal for someone else may be totally different than yours. It all depends on the overall situation and what they need/want out of their dogs.

they have been using it for the past 4 years. we haven't got 6 feet but we have gotten well over 2 in the area of the house.. it would be warm enough for me or you. it is highly insulated, the opening is pretty small just barely a foot wide to keep the temperature stable and about 10 feet deep and over 5 ft underground. It's more than deep enough to help regulate the temperature..

I stick to what i said. i think it is irresponsible to have a dog that isn't suitable for your climate.. People say the same thing about other animals, I can say it about dogs///
