How to tell legitimate puppy ads from scammers and puppy mill ads.

Once we move, even working dogs will be coming indoors at least at night, because we'll be living in the mountains in Maine. Between the cold and the large predators, we'd rather not wake up to dead dogs.

PETA believes that pets can never truly be happy if people are in their lives. They believe the animals are mentally ill with Stolkholm syndrome (when captives fall in love with their kidnappers) or that the animals are faking affection to avoid being beaten, starved, etc.

I'm not making this stuff up, its really what they believe!

I'm pretty sure an animal that has never been beaten or starved won't know that they are even possibilities. XD

i find it irresponsible to own a pet that can't survive in your climate without artificial heating and/ or air conditioning .. people should do the proper research and select a dog accordingly. My dogs can and will survive outside all year round

yeah peta believes all domesticated animals should be fixed than allowed to die out because they live a life of slavery and servitude .. pets and farm animals

Just curious, what breeds do you have?

That's good, because you want dogs that are outside 24/7/365. Not everyone does.

And people move. I live in Southwest Kansas now. I'm not getting rid of my animals just because we're moving to a different climate, and we are more than capable of keeping them healthy, happy, and safe in either. If it were back 200 years ago and there were no ways to accommodate dogs to different climates than they originated in like we can now, sure. But we're going to be heating the house in the winter anyway. It's not like I'm talking about going out of our way or anything.

we have coyotes, bobcats , and bears, in the woods here. along with highs of over 100 and lows in the negatives... We have pitbulls, nothing special, just strong and healthy. they have an in ground dog house they never come in the house

Interesting, I would not think they could handle that kind of weather even with a dog house.

It was 108 degrees and humid here the other day. Winters where we're moving (courtesy of a work transfer) easily get to -30. That's a huge temperature difference to reasonably expect. Hell, I couldn't even survive outside without artificial heat or cooling in either. But whatever. Sometimes life isn't perfect, or ideal. Sometimes a bit of extra work has to go into things.

And if I bring my dogs inside because we're moving to an opposite extreme climate for work, so be it.
