How to tell on baby ducklings

I'm going to TSC today to get some Pekin ducks I would like to walk away with 3 females and and a male is there anyway to tell the difference on these?

I don't know about Pekins. I ended up with all boys

I was looking at their khaki campbells, and the girl at the store said something about the colors of them. I don't know if it's true, but she knew more about them than I did.

You won't be able to tell for sure until they are atleast 8 weeks old and the female starts to get her quack. As ducklings unless you vent sex them it is a 50/50 chance.

Yep with Pekin ducklings the only sure way is to vent sex.

Vent sexing ducklings is pretty easy. I was able to have someone show me how though.

I don't think vent sexing is easy at all, that is just my opinion. I'm sure you can find a website that will show you how to do it, but A) It can hurt the ducklings if you don't know what you are doing. B) I, personally, think it is difficult.

I think a person just has to have a natural talent for it. I have raised ducks for many years and can't very accurately sex ducklings. If it were easy, more than a couple hatcheries would offer sexed ducklings.

Here is an older BYC post that explains how to vent sex ducks with pictures. It is much easier than chicks. If you do not feel comfortable doing this then don't. You can cause harm to the ducklings.

Is the females quack different? What if they start to quack earlier? Mine are starting to quack and they are only 16 days old. It is an actual quack sound, not their normal squeaky cry.
