How to tell the diff between EE and Ameraucana?

pips&peeps :

All the information about the differences are on the site. There are pictures of the eight recognized varieties in bantam and large fowl. There are also pictures of chicks and what the down color should be for those eight recognized varieties.

There are also a couple of pages dedicated to the breed standard and what the differences are between ee's, araucanas and ameraucanas.

This has been discussed heavily on this site and there are many posts regarding it, if you would use the search key you can find them.

yes I will since apparently im not getting it here

I know the difference between ameraucanas and araucanas that's simple. The confusion was between the EE and Ameraucanas. Through the info that im gathering it looks like I could selectively breed EEs over time and make them Ameraucanas again which is sad that it's that way...I think that's why theres so much confusion over these breeds of birds because theres no clear cut info and no one willing to make it easy for everyone to understand.

It would be great if someone would be willing to take their super incredibly awesome Araucana/Ameraucana knowledge and experience and make a BYC page highlighting the differences between these breeds and the EEs.

This isn't the first time I've seen this question here, and it's a really good one. I'd be interested in learning more, myself.

Anyone up to it? It would be a great opportunity to show off your birds.

If someone made a page like this, what would you guys want to see on it? (Ameraucana/Araucana experts, weigh in on what would need to be included, too...)

i would want to know...what REALLY is the BIG differance between an EE and an Ameraucana? What really sets them apart as differant breeds.

some real easy explainations about EEs and Ameraucana, like are they really that much different? And if so how can you tell and be SURE? Is it possible to selectively breed EEs and get a showable Ameraucana? <---because if so that will explain why it's so hard to tell the diff LOL.

Many get confused on the spellings too

it would also be neat to see every color recognized in each purebred as theres not that many atleast not in Ameraucanas.

Ok let me try putting it this way -

EE's are the same to Americunas as production reds are to Rhode Island Reds.

Now this means that you can indeed have an EE that , by all appearances could pass muster for an AMericuna. (I had a white one that would).

However to be a true "breed" they must reproduce true to variety and breed. So if I took my white EE and mated it with another White Americunam, would produce all white young. Chances are nope.

So could you fool a show judge maybe, but is it really , nope.

Now , to confuse the issue further, could you use a EE that in all appearances passes muster as an Americuna , in a breeding program an end up with Americuna;s? Yes , all breeds came from mixing other breeds and varities together , until they created an new breed, one that when breed with like produces like, the vast majority of the time. This would be done by hatching as many young as possible, and culling all birds that do not fit the profile. It would take time , but it is doable.

So now I hope I have really confused the issue
