Some use frontline spray. Kinda pricey and is a bit strong for birds but fine if they are adults.
Many use Permethrin which is a broad spectrum insecticide for garden, livestock and livestock premises. You can purchase small bottle of concentrate at local feed store- Permethrin10. It's 10% solution, poultry application is 0.05%, for premises double that. 1 once to 1.5 gallons is the mix to spray on birds. A pint or so container is about $7 so all you need is a spray bottle or if a lot of birds a pump sprayer with ot without wand. If a wand type you'll want another person spraying them as you hold them out, open wings, turn over...
It's not too bad to do, sprayed premise and birds bit over a week ago and will be reapplying as soon as we've a dry morning, hopefully tomorrow. Very mild insecticide compared to others. It's said you don't need an egg withdrawal period but I did three days just because I'd soaked the vent area and ground surrounding coop so figured meh, first day eggs will have some on surface and second maybe into third day trace of ingestion. Fed those eggs back to girls.
I see your avatar and assume you've got horses too. Same product mixed at heavier solution for flies and horses. The bottle has mix ratios on fold out label for each application type. Mites and lice is mild 0.05% and that's exactly what I have/had too.
