Sure, toxic substances will kill the mites, but why not use something inert first?

Because I don't want to do it every 2-3 days, or whatever it is people say to do.

Fair enough. For me it's part of chicken care. The more I 'dick' around with the chickens the happier I am.

I think they probably are. If you read my early post on the subject you'll see I mentioned the three day treatment.

You say three days, other people say every 2-3 day for weeks, so which one is it? Note that I'm not picking on you, there just isn't any properly documented information on the subject. And what about severe cases? Do you treat those the same?
