I did not spell that right but I got electrolights because it's been very hot in the past couple of days and the coop gets hotter than the outside. When and how do I give them electrolights? I'm hoping to add more ventilation soon. We're running out of spots to put vents. There are no spots up high to put vents beside the roost height.

There should be directions on the packet. I pour the packet into the waterer and then fill it with water. On hot days I keep fresh water constantly.
Watermelon that is kept in a cool basement or fridge is a great treat on hot days.
I heard I should do it once a week or should I do it anytime its hot?

My hot months are July-August. My coop and run are under a huge basswood tree so they get shade all day long. I will put electrolytes in the waterer on those days that are in the 90°F or higher but not everyday. Fresh water works best but if the flock is panting with wings being held away from they bodies, I will automatically add electrolytes but then grab watermelon or ice cubes that have frozen veggies or fruit in the ice cubes; I put these out as treats.
