How Well Do you Know Chickens?????????????????????????????????????????

Quote:
Definately not Delawares. Delawares are white with barring in their hackles and in the roos tails. Like my avatar.

You mean the Delaware Blue Hen's breed. They are called "Delaware Blue Hens" even the roosters. It's stupid and confusing.

I was thinking blue andalusian. is the blue one's and definate buff orp on the others.

EDIT** didn't realize the blue ones laid green eggs. .. probrably a EE cross

Don't make me come after you!!!

Here's a Delaware Blue Hen hen, lol! Much narrower, lighter body type, but the coloring is mighty close. They do have some Andalusian in their history. Click to enlarge.

I wonder if you have blue Orps x EE?

The blue looks like she's got face feathers, like an ameraucana or easter egger, which is an ameraucana cross. That would definitely explain the blue egg.

But I'm with rancher hicks (cool name!) They're free, they're beautiful and healthy and they're laying eggs for you. You really lucked out there. Congradulations!

I have yet to see a blue rock, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. I thought blue orp when I first looked. Maybe an orp X EE, and one of them carries blue, but the eggs come from somebody with EE in them. I agree, they are good looking birds, and free to boot. You gotta love 'em.

Ok, so I see buff orphingtons, and the blue ones.....they do look like they have some Ameraucana in them (their combs), but the must be a cross because they have heavier bodies and feathering.........
