Timmy as the handle states.. 1959 model, Texas and Oklahoma heritage, living in OK and its a wonderful state.. The better half and I are homesteaders by todays definition.. We grow fruits and veggies and process them according to the need.. We raise miniature cattle according to today BUT, they're actually Heritage cattle.. A small herd of Hereford and the Australian lowline, now abberdeen.. The tail end of June we put 64 Cornish x in the freezer and it took the 2 of us the 2 day weekend.. We're sitting outside that weekend both moaning about the task we just completed when I started laughing, wife says what's so funny ? I said just imagine if we still had the 15 we lost along the way.. We lost some as chicks, a near 7 foot rat snake killed 2, then at the tail end it was heart attacks or heat strokes .. We got a late start this year due to the kung flu that's has so much out of wack.. I was raised by a Lovely animal loving mother who apparently parted that gene to me.. Birds were a big part of her life and she held a migratory game bird permit.. The birds we had are toooooo numerous to list.. What brought me here is the heritage white Cornish , I'm on page 28 of 88 of @Fat Daddy thread of the birds.. Awesome thread FD.. For eggs currently our flock is a mix of Buff O's , black Australorps and a few cinnamon queens.. Being a real nature boy type I like snakes too, I'll share my eggs before I'll kill a snake.. LOL, but the egg sucking rat snakes are so abundant this year that I've had to pillow case 6 and haul them down the road.. It got to the point they didn't want to roost at night because there was 2 at a time some nights.. I suppose I could relate.. OK some pics if they'll post.. You might notice the color of the carcass it was very windy that weekend and they dried quick, once wet and on ice they regained proper color..
