There's a weird growth on my female Coturnix Quail's foot. She is struggling to stand on it and is hopping to get around.

She had something wrong with her foot about 7 weeks before, there was a sore on her foot and it tore kind of and it was bleeding alot. It was spurting, so there was something wrong with the artery.

How can I help her, is there anything I can do? She hasn't had trouble walking before today and I didn't notice it until now. It's kind of soft and squishy, like there's something inside of it.

Any help is appreciated.

Wish I would’ve seen this thread sooner. Hopefully you were able to remove the infection. I haven’t seen that with any of my quail, but I’ve dealt with it in a few chicken cases. Once the scab is removed, the kernel (infection) can be either pulled out with tweezers or gently squeezed out. Then, I’d pack the wound with antibiotic (non-pain relief) and bandage, after cleaning it. I’d do that daily until healed. I hope she‘s doing better. ☺️

I did the operation, but it seems to be properly infected now. We are getting her antibiotics and she can still barely walk. It looks slightly smaller than it was originally.
I feel so bad for the poor baby she's such a sweet bird.

Hercules died on the 27th of November, I didn't update because I was too upset about it. She was the first Quail I ever hatched and was extremely friendly.
