Rooster Red, I'd also be like - Yeehaw! Free carnival passes! But - let's stop up at Em's at make sure her animals are fed and watered.
Her husband and oldest boy made an appearance around 8:30 this evening and we discussed the whole bloody situation. Her oldest boy is 15, and he actually called his Mom a loser. Unfortunately, it seems the side of her I've seen in the non-profit is not her true side, or it's a side she rarely shows.
I told her husband I was out about $250 in time, feed and lost animals. I don't even know if that's a reasonable amount, but he asked me what my financial losses were, and that's the number that popped into my head.
He said he would work it out with us, but it would have to be worked into their budget, as they've all ready putting out over $300 on the kitten. I had no idea of the total cost, but she's in over the weekend, and that can't be cheap.
The husband actually wanted to see the pictures of the chicks. I showed him and he was even more angry. He said he was going to make her come up and apologize, and I told him not to bother. Her previous actions showed her true feelings, and I don't need any butt kissing to make me feel better. I actually think it would make her feel better, and that's why I'm not allowing it. Is that harsh?
Anyway, the vet said the kitten had really perked up, and she was actually drinking and eating some on her own, so she'll most likely make a full recovery.
