Humans on your property poisoning your animals??!! RANT

If someone tried to poison my GSD's they would be getting a little poisoning themselves...the lead kind.

The only time I have had issues with neighbours was when I lived in "suburbia in the country". Neighbour threated to beat my dog with a stick as it was barking at him through our kennel. I told him I would GLADLY pay for a lawyer and cop an assault charge to put him in the hospital.

I also told him he better watch out for my dogs and keep them safe because if ANYTHING happens to them he will be the first person I go after.

Never had a problem after that.

Neighbour even got to know my dog and we became somewhat of aquaintances.

I have to play devils advocate here,
Is there 100% proof that someone actually came onto the property and set out anti freeze?
could one of the vehicles be leaking radiator fluid and they just dont know? or could they know, have put a pan down to keep it from fouling the environment and the dog gotten into it?
sometimes the easiest way to explain something is to claim someone else did it.
IDK

Gypsy its a pretty common (evil) trick to get rid of unwanted local animals. My inlaws were pet sitting our two dogs in Missouri a few years back and one of their neighbors put out a pan of antifreeze and killed them both. My wife and I got back from our conference and the smaller dog "Missouri Belle" was in convulsions and dying, We put the bigger dog to sleep at the vet after it tested positive for ethylene glycol poisoning. She was my black lab hunting dog, and a registered therapy dog with TDI, named "Natty Bumppo".

My mother in law later found the pan at the edge of the neighbors yard and took a polaroid. We never found out if they were just targeting our dogs or just indiscriminately killing any animal that entered their yard. Ethylene glycol is sweet and any animal will drink it if offered. It takes just a couple of leps to kill a large dog. Sure accidental poisonings do occur but intentionall poisoning is unfortunatly all too common which is why many states have gone to the effort to stamp it out.

Well the dog did not make it through the night. They found a pan and edge of the woods and turned over to the police but were told it will be hard to prove who put it there. So here goes another good animal to waste because of cruel people. Thanks everyone for listening (reading I guess) It helped alot.

someone should put out hidden cameras maybe they could be rented or found second hand to see who is doing it since they havent stopped yet then they will probably do it again. Then they should be put in a room with all the pet owners.

so sorry

I am so sorry for your loss.

That is HORRIBLE that some people are sick enough and cruel enough to do such a thing. I agree, where this isn't the first time someone has done this to your animals, maybe a camera trap would be a good investment. Is there anyone with a personal vendeta against your family?

Again I am sorry.

One thing I hate is people poisoning any animals, even see post on this forum, were people set poison out for coon and etc.

This is one good reason, not to. You have very little control what eats it. With thing like rat poison it take more than one time, and you have time to get help.

With these home made poison trick, this one and one with fly bait. they die super fast. Just think if a child gets into it.

No sure if someone, did this on purpose.

That is what Sheriff is thinking. They are going to patrol through there more often. This is the 3rd dog poisoned in that area.

I know first hand people do this , years ago I had a goat killed the same way, found her water bucket topped off with it. water test and necropsy was the evidence.
All the information was not in at that time (sic) the pan found off the edge of the property.
when all the information is not available it isnt hard to think it could have been accidental.
Now that we know where the water pan was found hopefully the police can do something about it.
