We are honored each year by HUNDREDS of hummingbirds staying around our house...We have 9 feeders with 56 seats and on most early evenings there is standing room only!...We just saw our first of the year and are very excited!

Anyone else fascinated with these lil flyers?...

Here's a couple pics I've taken:

Here are some more pics I've taken of them...

Great pics! I love them too. Last week I was typing away and saw a shadow on the window above my desk. Yep, there was a little male, glaring at me! Scrambled to get the feeders up and within minutes they were all over.

Seems to be a bit earlier this year.

Thanks for the reminder. I have the feeders sitting here waiting to be cleaned and put back out.

The first batch of Carolina wrens has nested. The nest is in the old waterer on the shelf by the coop.

The 5 eggs.

I know they've hatched, but haven't gotten a pic yet. Main camera isn't working so I am on the old, slow backup one. And I don't want the parents to get frightened away. Dang cute and opportunistic little devils!

How does this compare with their arrival in past years? Are they early, on time or late. We usually get them about the 1st of May ~ I need to know if I should put out my feeders early!
