Hummingbirds are back!

We are honored each year by HUNDREDS of hummingbirds staying around our house...We have 9 feeders with 56 seats and on most early evenings there is standing room only!...We just saw our first of the year and are very excited!

Anyone else fascinated with these lil flyers?...

Great pics! I love them too. Last week I was typing away and saw a shadow on the window above my desk. Yep, there was a little male, glaring at me! Scrambled to get the feeders up and within minutes they were all over.

Seems to be a bit earlier this year.

The first batch of Carolina wrens has nested. The nest is in the old waterer on the shelf by the coop.

The 5 eggs.

I know they've hatched, but haven't gotten a pic yet. Main camera isn't working so I am on the old, slow backup one. And I don't want the parents to get frightened away. Dang cute and opportunistic little devils!

The are my favorite bird, right up there with Pelicans! My chickens are in a class by themselves.

They have arrived within the same 10 day period(04/10 - 04/19) for the last 4 years...

Thanks! I think I will get mine up this week! We usually get a dozen or so that stay all summer. They like our poplar trees.
