hunting

I love to hunt. Didn't make it bowhunting last year, due to gallbladder surgery. Not sure if I am going to make it this year. Our hunting land is 2 hours away, and it's just hard to get there without having to take 3 kids. I will be gun hunting though.

our bow season starts next Saturday. Can hardly wait. Got a monster I have been watching on stand and on camera now for 4 years, he should be 6 this season and is a true pig for south Georgia, guessing from the pics we havehe's got to be 150-160 inches easy, we just dont get that very often here, he's been a 10 point ever since we first saw him at age 2, was a 13 last year though, just never got a good shot at him, back to a 10 now, but Lord what some mass he's carring.

here's some of him last year at 4 years old, was wrong on age he's 5 this year we think. I havent gotten him yet this year but my brother has on camera, so just add a year of mass and 2-4 inches on tine lenght for what he is now. We figured him as 140ish last year, had about 2000 pics of him.

Dont pay attention to the dates, most were on a ol junk Wild View camera, they kill batteries every 10 days so never could keep time and date right on them.

here's one of his running buddies, always seems to be with him, over 4 years of watching him, hard to see but check out the mass on his beams

 

[Meat Hunter]

Archery starts here in 2 weeks. Can't wait. Buck or doe, meat is meat. Almost all the venison we harvested last year is gone. Most I made into sausage and pastrami. Time to restock.

Are the geese flying by you 10 point. We haven't had any here flying, so I went and got a few crows.
