hunting

been the same here, and very slow for a bow season. all I have done is feed mosquitoes so far. only seen one 8pt he was too young still so let him go. Got some monsters on camera that I'm after anyway. But usually by now I've already got my does for the freezer. I aint even seen one on the stand this season yet. I like to get 2 for the meat each year and be done with that before the rut get's here, and focus on a wall hanger then. but looking bad so far. Just been so darn hot they are all moving at night, that and I got invaded by hogs on my corn.

yes we legalized it here two seasons ago, always did it anyway, but I hunt a massive river bottom, and the darn hogs are horrible. Once they move in, the deer beat it for a while. Watched a 400 pounds one run a yearling all threw my slough bottom last year. Looked like a dog chasing the poor little thing. tried to shoot him but he never slowed down to get a good shot threw all the trees. Finally did get him though, and he was just a touch under 400 pounds. dang monster pig! Got another one as big or bigger on camera now in the same bottom...just cant get rid of them....

sure do... haha

back in the early 80's we were happy to have them, now you cant control them and they ruin everything in their path, from food plots to farms. Run off the deer, eat all the turkey eggs and poults they can find, just a mess.

I have 2300 acres on the river here where I hunt. We have about 2 dozen hog traps on the property and still cant keep them under control. The darn sows stay pregnant. Just as soon as they have a batch they breed again and are carrying new ones while nursing one litter. Then I think it's like 6 months old those start breeding, worse than rats and rabbits ever thought about being.

I wish I had some hog hunting ground never had a chance to go and I want to do it eventually. As in hunting this year I have only went squirrel hunting once and got one. Tuned my bow up for turkey and deer and haven't managed to go yet.

You will get there someday. Bow hunting it sometime takes time .

haha

yep if you want to do hogs, Lord come on down, you kill them til your hearts content here....

I pretty much got turkey hunting nailed down, got 10 to the gun last season.
Been trying with a bow just for the extra challenge. Like you need to make turkey hunting harder.
Now popping one with a bow, when you do that, you did something. I so far in 6 years of trying it stuck 1. That joker flopped over dead as a hammer. Whne I got up to go get it, it got up too.. took off running and flew off with it still in one side and out the other.... Hit it about as perfect as you can, just a touch off is all it takes with a bow and you wont kill them... sure is fun trying though

What river are you talking about? We might have to come and stick some pigs. We have to get a small game Lic for them right.

They are classed as feral here so there's no rules on them, kill em all year day or night and over bait. so come on.

You need the Big Game for them I'm pretty sure. Hunting and Big Game for us is just $19 total. Not sure what out of state cost are. GA does have a 3 day out of state too I think.
We never see anyone though where this is if you know what I mean haha.

Would love to take yall if you want to do it.

It's a small tributary river called the Little River here. It goes to the Withlacochee and then into the Swanee in FL then out the Gulf.

Location wise we are near Valdosta GA. dead center of GA on the GA/FL line right off I-75
bEEN JUST DELETING ALL THE HOG PICS OFF MY CAMERAS BUT WILL SAVE A FEW AND POST HERE WHEN i PULL ALL THE SD CARDS THIS WEEKEND FOR YOU TO SEE WHAT I'm DEALING WITH.

Whoops cap lock was on

Anyway here some of the good stuff I've been getting so far otherwise though. Nothing like last year yet, had several 150 class deer then. But the big ones are just now starting to move around a bit and get their pics taken.
