I may be wrong but I don't think Miami is where the old folks retire to.I feel sorry for the people who moved to Miami for their retirement and instead of a peaceful time they're copping this![]()
It doesn't have to be a hurricane for it negatively affect us. Just the rain alone can cause widespread flooding. People in the town near me are really concerned as it flooded the Potomac River where water went to the top (and over) several of the buildings. WV has suffered several deaths due to rain from storms long gone - even just last year.Irma will not be Irma by the time it reaches MD.
I agree with Kiki...it won't be as bad if it does swing this way. Maybe some wind damage - shingles off and compromised trees down and some minor flooding. The beaches would get hit harder. We get it bad when the hurricanes come from the Bermuda area and go up the coast. If Irma stays on this latest track, it is liable to clobber us too.

There is way too much land from the tip of Florida to way up north for it to still have powerful winds by the time it gets up close to you..if it makes it that far.
I'm keeping an eye on the forecasts from the .gov website...I'm afraid the news media makes up way too much stuff now a days.
I'm seeing it first hand with all the hype about Harvey...something I saw first hand too.
