Was just reminded of this: driving on flooded roads causes wakes that may send water crashing into people trying to stay upright and into homes that are precariously close to but not yet flooded. Barricades are there for a reason, people!

Rivers and bayous are continuing to rise. Rain continues to fall.

Rain has stopped.......For the next five minutes. That's how it is. We heard a rumor(RUMOR, folks) that they might shut of some of the water lines. Just in case, fill jars, bathtub, etc., with water. Especially if you have a filter.

My chickens aren't too stressed. I got 3 eggs yesterday and so far 4 today. Definitely low numbers for me but at least some are still laying. I'm dying for real internet right now. Boy is it tough not having it. This not knowing what's going on is killing me.

I think we've lost KHOU tv station in Houston. They were getting flooded out of the building and evacuating and had crews stranded all over last thing I heard. Been hours since I've seen any coverage from them. Last was that same lady late this morning saying they were possibly losing power too. Airport closed for a while now. Tornadoes keep popping. Many many many homes flooded past roofs. Lots of citizen rescues going on.

City of Houston 911 system at capacity. Shelter in place if possible,and you are in no immediate danger. Stay off the roads. Many roads are collapsing due to being undermined by water and look safe but are NOT! Unprecedented floods in areas never before flooded. Rains continue to come in waves. Flas floods give no warning, so stay away from low lying areas. Boil water order is imminent. It's too late to evacuate if you are able to stay where you are, do so.
