I was in Alexandria for three years. DW and kids stayed for four.

I love it here. My closest neighbor is about a 1/4 mile away... And I'm in the woods.
Sounds like the place we looked at, actually sounds like heaven to me. I still have pictures of that 100 year old log cabin (it was pretty big) and DH and I talk about it fondly to this day.

Ramen can be a cheep easy base for lots of healthy meals if you are not too picky. And they are very simple to make. What a great idea for a college student!! Do you mind if I ask the name of the book, as I have lots of neices and friends kids going off to or already at college. Just think it would make a nice gift.

The plain ramen you get from the store is actually not nutritional enough. You can starve on it. You have to add to it, and that's what I got her a book on doing.

well just make a batch for yourself or add it your bowl as you eat it
cause I told Hubby I dont want any sugar in stuff he makes or hot sauce or etc . so he makes it regular and "doctors" his stuff as he eats each serving
he hates garlic and I like it...
just a saying LOL

I do... especially since I can't eat bell peppers. I can have hot peppers, but sweet peppers I can't eat. It effects my reflux, and mysteriously the others like jalapeno or pablano don't.

2 ways to get to our farm. both of them blocked by huge trees and down power poles. we are trapped and can't leave unless on foot only. miles from stores. fun has begun. clean up is all we can do. and keep refilling the generator and chainsaws. gas is going quick. they saidvour area could be out 4 two weeks.
Let's hope and pray you can get the trees out of the way before the gas gives out. May have to travel far to get fuel for generator, be conservative with fuel, 2 weeks is a long time. Good luck
