Speaking of... News from Davie Florida, and my sister, is that her family came home last night, safe and sound.... and an hour before they got there the power came back! That happened fast!
Now they just need to cut up those trees.

Glad to hear Floridians are getting back to their homes! I felt a little bad going home yesterday. I noticed some Florida license plates heading south on I95 (although they later all turned off the exit that goes to our large mall....DE home of tax free shopping! Anyway...it was really overcast with dark looming thunderclouds and traffic was bumper to bumper (which is normal at quitting time). I couldn't help wonder if any of those drivers were having a PTSD moment.

On the switch issue....no switches....but Grandmother and Mom used the wooden spoon. We had holly trees and pines in our yard....that would be very painful.

Had a theriaist tell me once that no one in New Orleans will ever be the same. Guess that's why I have kept up with Texas and Florida, hoping they fair better than we did. It can be so hard, especially in the beginning. Just the realization that you have lost most everything you spent your life working for and have to start over at middle age or worse for the older folks. The light at the end of the tunnel, is that it can be done, you just can't give up. And I just want everyone to know they continue to be in my thoughts and prayers daily for the duration.
