Ideas anyone, is anyone close enough to have more personal info like an address that they could write to her or a phone number they could call or text. We don't need to know personal info. just that she is okay and a way to know the same if Maria goes that way. Our Lady of Prompt Succor hasten to help our friend Maria.

I was going to make just a "plain" chicken gumbo today....I just couldn't manage to keep it that simple...Had to go pick up some shrimp and sausage too.

I've been taking pictures....it's is not done yet so once I finish I will upload them to an album and share here.

Just remember there are still many people without power. But power is separate from Internet. We can get power back and still have no internet for weeks. So there's still time, we just have to be patient (and hopeful) that she's alright!

I'm about to start the rice...
The shrimp will go in the pot in about 30 more minutes.

I started at 11:30....it is now 2...it will be done at 3.

I was using my crappy cell phone for the pictures.
I remembered to plug my real camera in to charge this morning but it wasn't ready for today's cooking...it should be ready for the finale though.

That's because you are making it correctly, it is an all day affair to make Gumbo! LOL Lucky family, mine are getting fish my neighbor caught this morning. Red Fish, should be really good. We love fresh fish. DH is cleaning them now! LOL

I love blackened redfish..
I even love fresh caught red fish ceviche...yum!

Takes me an hour just to boil water for spaghetti noodles.
