I'm multi tasking...so sort of still dealing with chickens....got one of the hens inside with what I thought was bumblefoot but is just a deep hole. :barnie
Try typing and soaking a chicken foot simultaneously...WITH the cat wanting in on the action.
How is this girl doing this morning?

For those who are still dealing with the aftermath (or heaven forbid, now Maria) of hurricanes I thought this link might be helpful to head off, or least to know what to watch out for, with your animals;

Disaster Relief: Flood-Related Diseases in Poultry and Livestock | Mississippi State University Extension Service
If your fields or farm buildings have been flooded, take special precautions against flood-related diseases in poultry and livestock. Give animals extra care, particularly if they have been stranded by flood water and have been off regular feeding schedules.

Reality is for people that can't hold their liquor.

Really, you get better health benefits from laughing than exercise. Endorphins and all that stuff. Makes people feel good instead of scared of weather which we have no control over.

Riddle me this: Which is harder to herd, cats or chickens?

Prove it.

Cats they to dance their own beat

Okay, off topic. Last night we caught a hugh white possum in our HAH trap. Black ears, and no red eyes. Very large male, have never seen one like this before. He is truely white, not the normal grayish white and his legs and feet are white, just the ears are black. Anyone seen one like him? Is he a certain type of possum?

have to dispatch yes we have seen them dead on the road

You mean like this guy?

(not my picture; I found it on a google search)

Other than to say that there apparently is a certain amount of variability possible in the color of the opossum (reddish brown also happens sometimes), I know nothing about this.

As for the sore muscles - they should be rested. Any good exercise program includes rest days for repair and recovery; you can actually lose muscle if you keep pushing day after day (or so they tell me). But if you are sore from laughing so much, well, you realize you're coming to the wrong place if you expect a break from that, right?
Yes, after 60 years in Southeastern Louisiana, I have never seen one that looked like that before today. I am a hunter and I enjoy fishing, have been all over the woods and swamps, both night and day and have never seen one like him.
