Finally caught up...

Kiki, with a pressure cooker its time, pressure, and temp. You start it, lock down the lid, start your timer once you get a column of steam coming out the top, then put on the bobble and set your clock. When timer dings, turn off fire and wait for pressure to return to zero. Best to use recipes made for it as too little liquid will reveal a black mess on bottom of the pot when done.

Bone broth, I like to add bay leaves onion and garlic to the recipe provided. When I make stock or bone broth, I can it and I rarely do small batches.

Walmart, mine is 17 miles from here, no guards or cops... Since just about everyone in the place is armed, bad people stay away.

Lived in Northern VA, just outside DC for 20 years, never went anywhere unarmed. Now rarely carry in town. Its not uncommon here to be walking through the Walmart parking lot and see a truck windows down, doors unlocked and gun on the dash. No one will mess with it.

Penny copied a post from another thread and posted it here on the Hurricane thread.
I went over to that thread, in it's original spot and posted a reply..but the reply I posted over there was not meant to be posted over there...I meant to post that reply here so I delete my reply over there.

Does that make sense?

What I think ROOM was saying is that she thought she missed that post (the one Penny copied and posted here) as if it was originally posted here on this thread...but it wasn't.

Did that help any?
Confused like a termite in a yo yo.

My grand dad pointed out that no one trusted grand parent advice and no one was interested in great grandparent advice. Now let's think about this for a moment... Parents are all armatures. Grandparents are not much better. Great grand parents have been around the block a couple of time--but no one is interested in their input. First calls I made when my grandson was born was to grandpa... "How do I become a good grandparent?
No manual provided with babies at birth.

Yes I'm whining. If you saw my legs which look like I have chicken pox....you'd whine too.
Don't go out without bug spray here.

We have cops everywhere.
They even walk the halls of the schools.
What?...cops everywhere is NOT normal?
Married to a retired cop and I'm retired school asst. principal. We have both been there...done that.

It scares me!
I got it from my Granny's house after she passed..no one to show my how to use it.
I've tried a couple of times but I will end up killing myself trying to take the lid off to 'check' on the stuff.
I use canners all the time for cooking and canning. You can find manuals for most models on the Internet. I found parts, a manual and a lid for my SIL's canner....cheap.

It looks something like this...but larger.
This is a random google picture...
I don't want to walk the big ten steps to dig it out of the cabinet to take a picture of it.

Same above....

How am I suppose to know if it is done?
Leave the lid on until the pressure releases. Then check. The manual for your cooker or any cooker will give the timing for most canner recipes.

@NanaKat How are the new chicks?
They are thriving with their moms. Still expecting eggs to arrive from Ohio and already have three more hen's sitting on eggs in the barn.

The last post from @theuglyduckling was Sept 6. She is in dire situation in PR. News this morning...only 5% electric restored...most water is undrinkable.

Hit it, Ben

I thought Pasadena was in California...

They had that in the newspaper when I went to Tasmania. It was funny though because it was things like "somebody's garden gnome was taken", really low level offences compared to other places.
Good evening Miss Chip!
There is a city named Pasadena in:
California
Texas
Maryland
Ohio
and Florida....says Google.

Is a pressure cooker a canner? :confused::oops:

I already have stuff to look up today ...research.

I need to add canning to my list for next week. :thumbsup
There's hot water bath canning and pressure canning. I like to preserve all of the extras we get around here. Here are two good starting points: 1)preserving Your own and 2) Ball blue book And there are many more out there... Some safe and some not so much.
