Another tid bit, if you have to retreat to a 2nd floor or attic in your home, you may want to bring a fire arm if you have one. Wild life is going to be looking for high and dry areas to ride the flood out as well. You want to be able to protect your family and flock from predators

Thanks for starting this. I was trying to find a thread about the storm. I'm safe in MO but concerned for all of you in the hurricane/tropical storm area. That flooding sounds like it could be awful, we have been near the flooding here in MO. especially back in 93 nd not so major ones since. One reason my house is up high on a river bluff but on the downward eastern slope--less chance of tornados--- they tend to bounce.

I've read that winds downgraded to a category 3 hurricane from category 4. A category 3 with winds about 123 mph can still flatten a chicken coop if it isn't sturdy enough... I really do hope you and all your animals stay safe during this storm. We'll be praying for you ;) And i do hope (If your animals aren't already in your house) That your coop is elevated. They're calling for over 2 feet of rain.

Woooooww. That is scary. I hope that that doesn't happen to any BYCers.(Or anyone else) The animals actually took a nap today, the rain tired them out, and to get dry they roosted on the fence, we took them inside into a dark room and they just slept. I guess they didn't get any sleep last night, with all the thunder and lightning. They are inside right now. Sleeping.

Couple of tornadoes did touch down last night in this area.

The worst part is yet to come.
It's going to be from all the bayous and rivers flooding out of their banks.
Harvey down graded to a tropical storm, still have to watch for flooding and tornadoes. Now affecting Southwestern Louisiana. Good luck to all, prayers are with you all.
Yes. I can hear it coming. The down pour is starting. Lots and lots of rain. Thanks everyone for their concern.
