I'll vote girl mallard. They fly through here and some stay and become resident. Black Ducks look real close to female mallards and are year round resident also. I'll have to research because I don't remember the differences. Something to do with a black beak, but ?

Keep in mind that Mallards are whores and will mate with everything that stands still long enough. I've seen more than a few muscovy/mallard crosses. So if you have a mixed flock now, you really will get a mixed flock later.

Associate has a pond and put some ducks and geese out. An alligator moved in and the ducks disappeared one by one. The geese would watch the gator and when it went into the water, they came out. The ducks weren't so smart. The gator finally was invited to dinner.
