Yes - we only lost it for about 15 seconds. Others in our area were not so lucky, but everyone has power restored now. It was fairly rough, but not any worse than a severe summer thunderstorm - just longer.

I am glad you are alright and I pray it stays that way

Kikki,

I loved that video, especially the parts about the cats! I have a feral cat that I started feeding as an abandoned kitten last year. She lived with and grew up with my chickens. She and my Easter Eggers would literally play with each other - chase each other around and leap into the air. She recently had a litter of kittens in the coop with a broody I had - I posted in the Egglaying forum about it with a picture. The broody would watch the babies while mama cat was out, and she'd take over when she came back. The broody hen got so serious about it that the mama cat moved them. They are about 7 weeks old now and all of them live with the chickens. No issues - the chickens don't peck the kittens and the kittens don't mess with the chickens. I'm taking the mom to be spayed at the humane society later this week, and the kittens will go later when they are old enough. Great rodent control! My barred rock hens are great mousers too.

We raised these 5 babies their Mom we trapped in a have a heart and one son from another litter she had when we bought the house we have now as BF didn't want to abandon them well we had to give the have a heart back so I cut holes for the tech to inject her without touching her as she was mean as a snake they said oh you will have to put her in another have a heart or won't be able to do it
No way this cat had ripped BF pretty bad already I wasn't going to risk it.. We took her back to the old house and let her go, friends took 3 kitties we kept the older one he is my slobber kitty he drools when you pet him he is Bob thought it was a girl till they called said they were all boys well the other two ended up Mo and Curly our birds accept them totally my barred kicked the crap out of them

Hi! :frow

Sorry to bother you guys, but I don't know where else to ask this... Has anyone heard from our friend from Puerto Rico? I just keep hearing very concerning news from there about landslides and so on. :(

This thread is gigantic now, and I have not read it all (although when it started out, I was keeping up and did keep up for quite a while). I'm just hoping that somewhere buried in here is some good news? :fl
@theuglyduckling Is going to be back here soon. (I just know it) :fl

My biggest concern is communications. It's hard to know what to send, if you don't know what's needed and its virtually impossible to setup a command and control operation if you have no communications.

Air drops of supplies is doable—but can be fatal if military folks aren't there to manage the masses. I've come full circle... need comms.
