I didn't think Prius' went above 55....at least that's how it seems on I95 where speed limit is 65 but the norm is 80...and they can't just be in the right lane....they have to be in the two left hand ones!!! (4 lane Hgwy). I'm not familiar with traffic in CA other than the smog and jams you always see in pics from LA.
The Gores are used to driving on the East Coast. ;)

@Chickassan Anything you'd like to share?

I know, the news stories went on about the driver. I wanted hear more about the car and the traffic.

I need to take some fat duck pictures for Kiki tomorrow. I think she is letting the real world intrude into Chicken paradise.

Did they issue you guns while you were in lock down? Something to shoot back with?

We had a felon being chased through the neighborhood, so we went outside to watch. Apparently, the cops don't need any help. If they didn't need any help, why were they still looking? Oh, well. They eventually caught him.

I still am not able to identify what the car was (believe me hubby drilled me as he's a car enthusiast and couldn't believe they were using compact cars) - but it was a beige/cream colored compact car that didn't really seem to have a front grill. I'm guessing it's some type of Chevy because that's what the SUV's are. They were Dodge Durangos a few years ago but they switched to Chevy's.

From what news we heard, despite them locking down 95 from Wilmington DE (North goes to Philly PA), South to the MD state line....they caught the guy on foot in a neighborhood smoking a cigar. I really thought it was stupid for them to close all the schools and have parents venture out to get the kids when they wanted everyone off the streets. Duh. But whatever they did worked....MD police, DE police and the Feds were all looking for him. After the latest police officer shooting (which did happen literally down the road from my neighborhood - at our corner Wawa) - they don't mess around.

Yes Texas state troopers drive Dodge interceptors and Chevy Yukons. The Sheriffs have ford somethings. Houston city police have the same ford somethings.

Times must be getting tough if the police are down sizing. Bicycles are next!

What model of guns do yours carry? I see a lot of glops. A few 1911s. Not many Sigs any more.

Ok, where did he get the cigar? Does anyone but me find this strange? Did the cigar distract him from running away? Did the smoke lead the police to him?

What is a Wawa?

Are you buying a higher caliber cell phone?

Yes, sounds like the same logic to evacuate Houston 10 years ago for a hurricane. And then not to evacuate this year for a hurricane.

We do have officers on bikes...a lot in the inner city - easier for them to get around. They have mounted police still too....in the inner city. Always fun to have a horse standing next to you while you are in bumper to bumper traffic. I'm not familiar with what they carry. I'm sure I could ask. They are in our nursing facility enough - usually hauling away the unruly visitor. I do know a lot of gun shops have popped up where they didn't used to be.

Can't elaborate on the cigar except with the start of E cigs....smoke shops have quadrupled around here.

I was trying to look up what an equivalent to "Wawa" is for Texas....Stop N' Go??? It's just a gas station (ours are big) with a convenience store. Wawa is an Indian word that I think means goose or something. In NJ and I think South they have "Flying J".

Nah, my cell phone is fine....although the hubby is trying to get me to upgrade. LOL.

The brand of the bang stick isn't important. It's how it is used and if you know how to use it. The Force must only be used for good, Luke!

Ah, the Stop n' Robs. Yes, Flying J. We now have a Buc ee's. Brought back some great road side art. Advertising used to be an art. Now, not so much.

Buc ee's Eat here. Get gas.
Buc ee's 172 miles ahead. You can hold it!
Top 2 reasons to stop at Buc ee's. #1 and #2.
Buc ee's You missed the exit, but can turn around at the next one.

Google it. Funny!

Let's see....in Delaware today they announced they caught the shooter who went on a shooting spree, killing his co-workers in Maryland and then crossing over into our State and taking out an acquaintance of his in Wilmington DE. It was so crazy yesterday we were kept at work, schools were shut down and travel was pretty much police escort or observation. I made the discovery they now have unmarked COMPACT police cars...not just the cruisers and SUV's anymore.

Hubby saw an unmarked ford truck chasing someone down the other day. Not as weird as a compact car though.

Compact police cars? Eco-friendly? Kinda like NY meter maids?

Did you hear about Al Gore's son in a 110 mph police chase driving a Prius in California.

Can you believe that a Prius was doing 110 mph???? In California???

you'd be surprised how fast s prius can go! We have one and absolutely love it! I was actually driving it when I got my speeding ticket a few weeks ago and is not uncommon for hubby to look down and realize he's doing more than 80 on the highway lol
