In a few days you'll have everything to make them, except the shortening and oil. I suspect you have eggs (34 chickens)... Here's her recipe. And you can probably get the shortening and oil locally.
Lol did you send me some flour:D? Nope I don't get eggs yet from my chickens. They're only 5 months but hopefully next month I will get some. Next month i'm eating the d@mn extra roosters! Lol I can't wait. Faith

@theuglyduckling So can you get shortening/oil where you are, can't help with eggs, I am lucky if I get one a day from my 6 old ladies right now. Need to add some new ones, don't want to deal with chicks. Missed my chance last spring, when I had one broody! What else are you having a hard time getting, cause, my boxes are light and I can add stuff. Like do you have vanilla extract? Or stuff like that nameless cheese product, that you may not even want, but don't need a fridge unless it is opened (but we could send small bricks, that you could use the whole thing with what you are cooking). Trying to think of stuff besides books to send and being from New Orleans we always think of food first. :drool :lau Also heard this AM that New Orleans Junior League is sending baby diapers to PR!!

@theuglyduckling do you need/want coconut oil, flour (all purpose), almond flour, assume you have sugar (if not I can send that), but can send some stevia for diabetics! Please don't be shy, I need help knowing what is best to send, especially things that will help kids to learn, rather than be distracted by hunger. Sounds like people are sending school supplies, kids and their familys need to eat 7 days a week more than one time each day.

For the school any kind of store packaged items are good. Anything you could send. People here eat rice and beans as there main staple along with some type of protein. In this case it would be canned meat. Canned meat meaning spam, corn beef, vienna sausages, and any other neat that is in a can. They also use tomato sauce to make beans with. The cheese the school kids would eat yes. I promise you anything that you send the kids will eat.

Also don't worry about cheese products that come in a jar like cheese wiz we have found out that it last close to a week without spoiling after being opened and same for mayonnaise.
Do you have a running stream near you? If you do, check the water temp, odds are its a lot cooler than air temp.
