Again, Houston and surrounding areas are calling for citizens with boats and high water vehicles to assist and coordinate rescues with authorities. National and Texas Guard have bern there.

I'm thinking a significant percentage of the 10 million + living there will need evacuating before this is over. Just think about that a minute.

Just saw a pic on weather channel of the flooded highway in Dickinson. About 30 boats filled with people and others hanging onto them coming down that swirling brown now-river all together! OMG!

Governor:
DriveTexas.org for road closures. stay off roads, observe barriers.
Power outages widespread until wind calms more. Boil water areas widespread. FEMA ramping up further. Other states sending aid and resources as well. Large vessels preparing to make ports as they become safe. Red Cross is here. Still in Rescue mode, not assessment nor recovery for quite some time.

No one breathes the name Katrina, I notice.

Situation remains escalating, not yet over. Bayous and rivers not yet crested. Highest flooding yet to be seen. Rampant tornadoes. The damage will mount. Events continue unfolding with dangerous consequences. All of the Texas Gulf coast is affected, especially Corpus and up then into Louisiana. More than 2ft of rain over the past 48 hours too many places to list. 100's of 1000's of persons are/will be homeless. If not more.
