Well, usually chickens will float for a while, but then they sink. So if they fall in for a bit they're fine.

Houston hospitals evacuating, much via helicopter to awaiting ambulances. Tornadoes west of Katy. People driving the wrong way on highway to Sugarland, and other freeways!

No relief crews able to get into hospitals. Hospital staff has been stuck there, away from their own families, to care for and now evacuate patients between squalls.

In about 30 minutes, the FB live WFAA feed has to end because FB has a 4hr limit on them! WTF?!?

No one there is driving anywhere.

Many are regretting not leaving the week before,
my Houston cousin regretted not staying on vacation in Maine a week longer.
Trying to leave the closer the storm got could well have resulted in folks being stuck on gridlocked and then flooded highways....that's scarier than being stuck on your roof IMO. It's all a catch 22 crap shoot.

Cruise ships are diverting. It'll be another week or more before TX ports can receive them.

New records set by multiple bayous and they are still rising. More brief but powerful tornadoes spinning up and expected to continue through tonight. Bands of storms continue producing winds up to 100 mph near Victoria and heavy rains. Expecting up to 5 more days of at least occasional rainfall in the Houston metro and surrounding areas!
