My daughter's friend lives near Jacksonville FL. She's trying to find a place to go with 23 snakes and other reptiles. She has a rescue and removal business. Anyone got room?
:D

I realize it's not really funny - she cares about them as much as we do our birds, canines, equines, and felines. I did tell daughter I didn't know if she could even get a motel room anywhere - or even allowed near it. :O

The friend says almost all hotels/motels are booked solid 400 miles out of the area. Apparently several are taking note that this may be a bad'un.

Can she sneak them into a camp ground like rent a KOA cabin if she keeps them in cages? May be rent an ajoining cabin???

I am not sure what the friend is trying to do yet. She also works at Home Depot and has been super busy trying to handle customers in need and find a place to go at the same time. Volunteers have been taking care of the rescues at her place.

My daughter told the girl that she could come to her house in WV with the reptiles but would have to keep them caged. A few rather large boas and a couple of Dragons are part of the parcel.

She told the girl it wouldn't do to have her cats turned into snacks.

Watching the current direction/action of Hurricane Irma, it sure seems like the eyewall may come very close to where @theuglyduckling is located. The black arrow is now located in Caguas PR.

I've traveled and smuggled a tortoise and gerbils into many hotel rooms... I keep them in zip-tied solid color sterilite bins so no clue as to what's in there as I carry them in and put up the "no room service" sign.
lol. I have done the same with ferrets and Corgies. Some places are pet friendly, but so many more are not.

I found a pet friendly hotel and booked a room before Katrina, only to arrive in Memphis TN to find a hand written note on the front door of the hotel that said, "no pets allowed, anyone with a pet in their room will be charged $300 per day." We brought our cats in anyway, in carriers with a beach towel over them. We were not caught or charged, we did buy a broom and dust pan, keeping the bathroom with the cats in them spotless. Yes we used the "do not disturb" sign and yes someone meowed from under the beach towel as we were getting on the elevator. LOL Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
