HC says 80 miles south of the keys. Watched video in Key West til the lights went out. Thought we saw someone with a flashlight - feel sorry if so.

Track has it going over Ft. Myers, Tampa, up to the west of Atlanta - barely touching Atlanta, to the area between Memphis and Nashville (all space in between), then between Jefferson MO west I think over to Lexington Ky to the right (covers the entire space) - then a straight shot to Chicago.

The video of Key West was LOUD with the wind. Wires were whipping back and forth, power went off twice while I was watching. Last time it didn't come back on and don't know if it did, but kinda doubt it.

Saw Miami live camera on CNN earlier. Like I said, it's not going to be pretty.

FL governor told the people who stayed behind in the Keys, that if they didn't leave, there would be no one coming to rescue them, that it would be impossible. I would imagine the road that runs down just over the water might not even be there once Irma goes through.

Edit: Needless to say, the rain was pouring down. A poor dog was walking up the street.

Hold tight Florida... although I really hope no one stayed behind in the Keys. That much storm surge with low elevation and the proximity of the storm is just too much to try to hunker down for.

Looks like it's tracking a little bit farther to the west than they said. The eye looks like it will be directly over Key West at about 6-7 AM.

I just saw a picture on tv. It had the main path a bit off the west coast. They were saying that storm surges are a worry for Tampa and some other place I immediately forgot the name of. I hope the people in the low-lying areas most at risk have all moved out until it's over.

Drinking my am coffee watching the news, a beautiful dawn and wishing I could change the hurricane area to this beautiful morning.

These crazy reporters doing the annoying Geraldo act during storms. Apparently some stayed in the keys and the eyewall is about 20 miles away. Sorry to hear that Irma slowed which will cause additional damage and higher storm surge. Hoping all of you who stayed and your critters stay safe.

Wish I could volunteer to come help but since working and a houseful of critters it is not an option.
