I can only imagine how flustered and frustrated @theuglyduckling must be.
:wee:confused:
I hope they have had time to restock their stores and I hope her MIL (I think it was) doesn't just plan on stocking up on ice cream this time.

Heck, we don't know if she has even gotten power back. I have a hunch the MIL or anyone else is probably not going to have ice cream.

The storm is apparently set to cause a lot more damage with 12" to upwards of 18" or more of rain and Cat 4 winds. The news indicated the possibility of mudslides and flash flooding.

I know she said she had a stream or creek within a few feet of her front door and her place was at the foot of a mountain. I just hope it's one of the more "sheltered" areas.

WOW! Thanks so much for all your humor today, I really needed it.

Today is a sad day. My avatar passed away about 6:30 this morning:hit She snuggled with me this morning when I got up, went and got a drink and laid down by the door and went to sleep. When I came back in she was gone. DW is devastated. Sorry for sharing the sad news.

Prancer RIP August 8, 2005 - September 17, 2017... So sorry if this offends anyone.
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like she went peacefully, though. We had four dogs - all of them rescues of one sort or another. We are down to one, now, the last of the three that died of old age did the same thing as your dog. I let them out in the backyard. He ran around, drank water, ate his breakfast then laid down for a nap and never woke up. My husband and daughter found him when they got home that afternoon from work and school. He was fine at 12:30 when I left to go to work, so sometime in that four hour stretch, he passed on. He had a bad heart and I was giving him Lasix daily to that. I told my husband that when I get to heaven and cross the rainbow bridge, I would have a whole pack of dogs waiting for me there! :)

Folks, I just got an update from the BVI... Our friends were able to go into town today. Still no internet, power, cell coverage, etc... at their place but they were able to send an email from town. Hunkering down for the next storm. All of the info I'm getting on PR is third hand--but pretty much the same story. Here's to hoping and praying for our friends.
