Not sure how the Carolinas are doing right now....but it was very dark and overcast here this morning - more so than usual. My roo was very quiet (and he's usually a loud mouth starting at 6:15). It's very still out and looks like it's going to pour rain any second (we are not forecasted for rain until tomorrow). Not really worried about Jose....but that Maria....

Gorgeous day here; 80's and partly cloudy. Just enough breeze (10 - 12 mph) to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

As you can see, Jose isn't a very healthy-looking storm right now. It didn't get quite as large as they though it might, and it's pulling in a lot of dry air.

The meteorologists are all sitting on the edges of their seats. It really looks like Jose and Maria are going to get close enough to each other to interact, and they are trying to predict just how that's going to play out.

Heck, we don't know if she has even gotten power back. I have a hunch the MIL or anyone else is probably not going to have ice cream.

The storm is apparently set to cause a lot more damage with 12" to upwards of 18" or more of rain and Cat 4 winds. The news indicated the possibility of mudslides and flash flooding.

I know she said she had a stream or creek within a few feet of her front door and her place was at the foot of a mountain. I just hope it's one of the more "sheltered" areas.
:thSizzle sticks.
Maybe we can send her a smoke signal????

:lau

Maybe I can run to the ocean and drop a bottle with a note in....think she will ever get it?

I'm going to ask my DH to try to call some of the people he knows that live there.
Was going to make a wise crack about how it might be easier for me to launch the message in a bottle.
However if your husband can at least find out what is happening there, it would probably be a great idea! I know I would like to know how they are really doing.
