DH hates when I come home with what I consider good finds.
I am always keeping an eye out.
I so badly wanted to go dig through hurricane trash piles but I didn't.

My neighbor threw out a perfectly find 55 inch Sony tv last year.
It looks nice in my room.

What's amazing is I've found pallets made out of furniture grade hardwood. All you need is the tools to reclaim it.:yesss:

All of y'all taking about your pretty woodworking projects and I'm stuck here poking though chicken poops with a stick. Not my favorite thing to do but it appears the springtime de worming needs a repeat. I'm just glad everyone eats from my hands makes stuff way easier.
Do you have the correct meds on hand?
Let us know if you need dosing amounts.

Here's my last major woodworking project. Took me three years working on weekends.

Funny story... After ten years of not being able to agree on a retirement location, DW and I began this adventure. Just the two of us. 90% done, we found our dream location. It was really hard to finish--but the house listed for three days until we had a solid offer. DW wants to know when I'm going to do the kitchen in the new house. ARG:he

Edited to add: for you bakers out there, yes those are walnut pie rings inlaid into the white maple butcher block counter top.
I love it!

Here are the vanities... Hard maple, painted white at realtors suggestion.
Check out the tops.

All tops are exotic hardwood. DW and I did all the remodeling. It took us 7 months from start to finish not counting the kitchen... Although I did hire help the last month. DW couldn't lift the slabs or the heavy stuff and I'm getting to old to do it by my self.
Are these tops maple too?
:love
I want to know what kind of camera took these pics.
Is this a wide angle type thing?

@biophiliac those articles were tough to read. I read one this morning that we're now able to get our heavy aircraft in there and they have sent a one star, 20,000 troops and heavy equipment to aid in relief efforts. I also read that they need poles, trucks, transformers, etc to get there before they send in the linemen to start fixing the power grid. Apparently they are focusing on Generators now.

Priority one appears to be a communications infrastructure, so they can at least communicate and prioritize. With Comms comes hope.

Yes, I heard many cell towers are not in service due to lack of fuel.

I'd feel alot better if some like you was working on the logistics! It just seems to me that due to geography the need for military assistance in delivering aid should have been forseen and planned for.:(
I taught my daughter to shoot when she was 17 or 18 I think... She wasn't interested before that. A couple years ago her husband asked me to teach him, so I ran him through the basic course and he did pretty well... Then he wanted to try different weapons (they loaned them at the range to increase sales)... He got a kimber 1911 with 5" barrel and asked me to run the first mag through. 15 yards, shot group the size of a quarter. I cleared the weapon and returned it to the counter... He was still standing there with mouth hanging open.:lau
I was on the 50 yard pistol berm putting clays out. Glock boy pops out of no where and asks why I was putting targets "way out there" on a pistol range. :) I proceeded to bust them up from 50 yards. It ain't hard.

He puts a torso target at 7 feet and proceeds to miss.:hmm I was concerned for our safety.
:lau
Blessed are they who focus on the front sight and squeezes!

Graduated 3rd in my class US Border Patrol Academy 146 th Session.... I'm only an average shot but did score 100% on the judgement portion, ie when to shoot. Never did have to.

This is THE table I will build!
Woot woot!
Thanks @rjohns39
I was planning on just eye balling a table together.
These plans are awesome.
