I have lived places where I had to use electric, I just find it a different way of cooking and have always had a hard time adjusting. I know others like it and DH says it costs less.I hated electric--but was too expensive to convert to gas. Basically, demo the basement ceilings to run the pipes.
Diva faverolles hen!!You might be right, she's the only normal looking faverolles hen I've got her sister is smooth faced and laying eggs so she probably thinks she's too pretty to lay
Diva faverolles hen!!Does she have a tiera?

We have had bees several times over the 20 years here on the farm. Nothing better than whole honey! If you don't have a comb knife, a hot wire does a fair job of cutting the top off the cells in the trays.Been spending the morning with youtube... I'm baaaaacccckk!
Four drakes butchered, skinned, pieced and resting in the fridge. Will freeze these two bags...one of leg quarters and wing pegs....the other 8 nice breast steaks.
Boiling the bones to make broth with meat tidbits. Put 1/2 an onion and two celery ribs in the pot....didn't want too much seasoning to mask the flavor of the duck.
Sorry @KikisGirls I didn't take photos. It has been a while since I butchered water fowl...the anatomy is a little different than poultry. I was going to pluck them so I could roast them, but my water wasn't hot enough. Wrapping in bacon for the grill will have to do.
I still have 4 more cockerels and two drakes to do...might get those done tomorrow

We only used comb from two trays and gave the rest of the comb back to the bees...it takes a lot of honey and energy from the workers to produce that comb.
Our winters can be pretty cold so we left the two supers and three short stacks for each hive. Even so we harvested two short stacks from each hive...plenty of honey for the family and some to share.
Way to go. I'll be checking to see how close I am to harvesting Sunday. And apparently I'm making stock this weekend. Over-run with carcasses.I'm baaaaacccckk!
