This is my first year and I wasn't to expect any honey--but I had an over achieving queen in one of my three hives. When I checked them, two were performing as expected. only 5 of the 10 frames pulled out--but the third hive all ten frames were pulled out and the bees were getting ready to swarm. So I tossed a queen exluder and another super on top. Now we'll see what they've done with it. The other two hives only have what they'll need through the winter. They eat honey and bee grubs that's for sure lol! Also tear your whole setup apart and make the surrounding area stink like bear. I'm thinking about redoing the whole thing with a log hive.
