I've got an exit sign pointing to the little chicken door in the coop. My mother asked if they'd be able to read it. I told her of course. Those birds are freaking brilliant!!!

What was the basis for the complaints? If you don't like something, don't eat it. Where's the issue?

@theuglyduckling Girl, I hope you were a fluffy girl before this disaster happened.

MY local new just reminded me that it has now been 2 weeks that you have been without power and water. I like to think that you have PLENTY of food...so don't ruin my thought.

My lovely buddy just shared a nasty website with me...I was scared to read it.
I keep looking at the people in the pictures...I'm looking for you!
I heard yesterday that the Marines had some sort of filter that they were using to filter salt water in PR into potable water! So hopefully they have drinking water at least. Just keep on praying and hoping. Wish she could check in! Although, that's just from a selfish point of view, most important thing is that she and her family are okay.
I really hope you are ok and that the bad guys are leaving you alone.

Thinking good thoughts for @theuglyduckling ...hoping for her safety. Things don't sound good for PR. Our nephew has been deployed. Mission undisclosed but we think it may be to help patrol and move supplies.


We use those mosquito dunks in all water tanks and duck pools. Oxine in the chicken water seems to keep the larvae from growing. I also spray permethrin barn spray on the walls and roosting areas in the coops to keep flies and mosquitoes at bay.

Fed the bottle calf today by moving her close to the graft mom while they were eating cubes...first time out in the open....and mom grudgingly let her nurse....SUCCESS! one more task done before surgery.
Fed all the chickens and cleaned the duck pools out and refilled them. Had to doctor one young keeper cockerel....he was a little hunkered down....gave him antibiotics/gallimycin for possible respiratory cold.

Worn out from 4 days of butchering and clearing the garden....so instead of going back out, I made an apple raisen pie...smells good in the kitchen.
Going to rest today and hit it hard Sunday and Monday. Surgery is Tuesday afternoon.

you take care my new Dr office called me said my thyroid level is great stay on current dosage.... but my vitamin D level is near very low he want to me take 4000 mg daily starting right away

You can also try to get a little more sun light, it is actually the best (and cheapest way to get Vit D).

yours is different than mine ... i was reading in spanish so i had to go back and look for it. Now I'm tempted to compare with the english version to see if it's any good. Is that OCD?
