It was after breakfast time when she posted that....she may have been sipping adults beverages already or maybe she really does put wine in a pot pie.
I've never tried it.
Got to thinking about this, I do put vanilla in my pie crust so why not wine in pot pie. Except I don’t like wine. :lau
I am making chicken pot pie tonight
:yesss: ours is in the oven. Group cooking here tonight.

Waiting for ours to cool.

Just finished deboning the store bought birds that I rotisseried. To say that I was disappointed, is an under statement. I see meat birds in my future. OK, I'm spoiled. Thanks to everyone for their help and encouragement in spoiling me. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), it has also killed my desire for Popeye's chicken. Weird.

Yes, I'm making broth from the carcasses and then they will go to be recycled.

No eggs yet. I'm on the edge of my perch. The nest box got fluffed a lot. More of the ladies are painting their faces. I'm interested to see if we get eggs by Halloween.

Cheers Ron! Sounds like you had a full day.

Popeye's has changed owners anyway, they are now owned by whoever owns Burger King. And they are planning to change the menu, first on the list, no more red beans and rice UGH!! Don't know what they will do in New orleans, where it all began and people aren't going to give up their red beans easily!! Guess we will see, but I have a feeling in the next few months or so you wont be missing much. IMO

Well, when I started I had 2" below the top of the pot.. Here it is working... It's finally settled down and just simmering. Oh and it smells fantastic.
Concentrating the flavors....yummmmmm.

It's very rare for me to peel a potato, sometimes--but seldom. When I can them as potatoes, they get peeled--Don't know why other than that's how grandma did it.

X2 Lots of vitamins and fiber in the peel. I rarely peel carrots either and I never waste the root of the celery stalk.:old
The reason for peeling potatoes when you can them is the skin discolors the potatoes during the pressure canning process. The tannins in the skins leaves the water dark...especially when canning new potatoes.
