Ok...here is a new topic for everyone...and a good one.
What is the BEST chicken waterer (non-nipple) that everyone has found. I've amased a useless pile of chicken waterers because they all suck! I've had it. Leak, can't balance, rust, get knocked over....I've bought cheap, I've bought expensive....I give up!

i have this one, it has a float inside and only has a lid to keep chit out, i am going to drill a small hole and put a small fish-tank heater in it similar to this one

In my shelter's I use a bellmatic drinker aside from needing to clean the filters and hoses from time to time they work great. I have a 5 gal bucket on top the shelter that feeds them. In pasture I've just surrendered. Rubber bowls and kiddie swimming pools get the job done.

ETA: I rinse and refill three times per day, sometimes four depending on temp.

I loved that video, especially the parts about the cats! I have a feral cat that I started feeding as an abandoned kitten last year. She lived with and grew up with my chickens. She and my Easter Eggers would literally play with each other - chase each other around and leap into the air. She recently had a litter of kittens in the coop with a broody I had - I posted in the Egglaying forum about it with a picture. The broody would watch the babies while mama cat was out, and she'd take over when she came back. The broody hen got so serious about it that the mama cat moved them. They are about 7 weeks old now and all of them live with the chickens. No issues - the chickens don't peck the kittens and the kittens don't mess with the chickens. I'm taking the mom to be spayed at the humane society later this week, and the kittens will go later when they are old enough. Great rodent control! My barred rock hens are great mousers too.

I almost took you a picture of my bathtub ducks. Work has a city park behind the building with ducks. So I have named the big wet thing "my bathtub" and it has ducks. Mallards & muscovies. Nope - didn't feed them, but plenty of people keep them fat. At work. I don't claim any of them.

It's amazing how people have chickens, have had chickens and grew up around chickens. Dad was military and I didn't have any of that. He thinks I'm insane. For several reasons, but the newest one is chickens.

Brought Rupert inside for the evening and I'm trying to get to the point where I can leave the room door open. Out of 8 cats, 7 are like...."yeah, ok, it's a chicken", but my youngest is trying TO BE a chicken and hang out with him. If she'd sit still for a photo, I'd post it....
