Hurricane Advice

Uh ho...you sick?
Or just a regular check up type appointment?

refill on my pain meds they have made it so difficult for docs to prescribe like all of us are gutter drugies, I take one of the easiest on the body and brain known to man

Anyone have big plans for next week?

We will be eating at my brother's house this year.
I am bringing one of the turkeys.

When should I take it out of the freezer to start thawing in the fridge so I have time to brine it..now?

Chef is in Kentucky till Monday on one of his AER race events. I kept getting updates and photos from all the bourbon distilleries they were at. I'm like..."uh....thought you were working!"
Anyway...I don't know what the plans are until he tells me....(since he's the cook)

By the way...when did this stupid "FriendsGiving" nonsense start? My co-worker/office mate is about to kill her 15 year old over this new trend.
I haven't heard of this Friendsgiving stuff yet!?

2 friends of mine have the same problem, Pain meds were cut in half due to pressure on docs to cut back. I think both are treated at the VA. This issue was discussed on NPR a few days ago. Somehow they've got to discern those who need the meds to function from those at risk of addiction.

and just a random thought, ...
Seems like PR is looking at an opportunity to create a power infrastructure that will be more resilliant vis a vis hurricanes. Right now many if not most residents of the island are living a 19th century lifestyle without electricity or safe water but with 21st century improvements in battery storage technology, wind and solar systems, people have a chance to be independent of the grid. Wouldn't it be cool to build a 'green' system:D

Even wave energy even is looking more feasible by the day. Let's take a little from our 'defense' budget and make PR a demonstration project in renewable energy!

Instead the Jones Act is in effect again, adding 30% to rebuilding costs on shipped materials.
... rant over,
