I should add that I am retiring from my federal job as of this Friday, and I will begin work with our school district as a teacher of students with EBD (emotional/behavioral disorders) in kindergarten. I've decided my classroom theme will be chickens, and I'm going to call our classroom "Cooper's Corner". That's about as far as I've gotten. I need to look online for some school classroom themed chicken stuff to hang on the walls and put on the desks. I'll have 8 boys with a paraprofessional to help out as well as a behavior technician.
Any websites or suggestions for decorations welcome!

Congrats. Your young men are going to miss you.

I highly recommend checking out this site:

A few years ago my baby's kindergarten teacher introduced it to me. I find lots of free great things there.

Just fyi, some special needs teachers have gotten approval to bring in class room chickens. Have no idea how hard that is, but worth a thought...
Yes, our Principal wants more "hands on" science projects this year, so I am thinking of taking my incubator in and hatching some chicks out. Ideas are to have kids keep a chart of their observations and to keep count of the days it takes for each stage of development and how many days to hatch. Things like that. Of course, they love to color at that age too!
