Hurricane Advice

First time anybody been around. Hopefully not too much longer

DD and neighbor scored a little ice yesterday. DW placed the small igloo in a larger chest to preserve it longer. Great idea!
I placed some cream we had in the ice and open preserves in the chest. Like a freezer / refrigerator arrangements.
The freezer was still a little cool this morning. Probably due to good discipline and loads of frozen (but mostly unidentifiable) leftovers and gel packs.🤭

Just do your best to keep it cool. And if all else fails starting bbqing like mad to get things cooked. You can pressure can meat in a propane stove to preserve it. If you need help saving what's in your freezer PM me and I'll be happy to help.

on the top of the to do list is going to be a 100lb propane tank.
My stove runs on those 100# tanks. The gas company brought two. When one is empty, it switches over and indicates. Just call and they bring another. Very convenient. One day I'll have a grill hooked up like that.

Still up here in the hospital battling Covid and the Hurricane.
New danger. I was told a lot of patients were coming in to the ED with high Carbon Monoxide levels. No generator or fires in the house.
People have been sleeping in their cars with the A/C on (and the engine). There's no power in a lot of areas and unrelenting heat so I get it. No answer but be aware of the danger.
